When you have finally come to the decision of publishing your own book, you will need to decide which path to follow. There are 3 common paths you can choose to follow and they are:
o Traditional o Vanity o Self- Publishing
Now lets look at the traditional path, we are all vaguely familiar with this path. We have seen the movies with an author moving for the summer to the country to work on a manuscript. He gets a cash advance from his publisher and gets a deadline that the author works hard to meet.
Then you have the - Authors Wanted - ad that we have all seen in magazines and newspapers. These publishers - sometimes - actually print your manuscript but at an average of 300% the cost of all other paths. They print your book for no other reason then they know you really want to be an author.
Finally we have the self - published path, this option is probably the least known. If you want choice, and control with the highest possible income than you should pursue this option. To start you write the book, go on line and hire professionals to edit and design your book. Than you send the manuscript to a online printer, and finally you choose a simple marketing option.
Now, how do you decide which path to follow, simple consider a few basic facts.
o Do you want to make all the profits? o Do you have the time to manage the process? o Do you want to be in control of the process?
Each option, will give you many choices that will need to be made, a few of these options can be difficult and challenging. However you should not let anything get in your way to becoming an author.
